Category VI is the last group called at roll call, and the fear is that nothing is left by then. The record at NAS Rota says otherwise: 92 percent of the 149 reported flights had room by the time Cat VI was called. Those are good odds by any standard.
By raw volume, October and September saw the most departures in the year ending November 2026, and August the fewest. A busy month means more chances, not better odds, and both numbers matter when you pick a window.

Getting to and from the terminal. Taxis have base access; local fares under 10 EUR; ~30 EUR to Puerto train station. Bus station just outside the Rota gate (Puerto, Jerez, Cádiz, Seville; siu.cmtbc.es). Rota-Cádiz ferry ~30 min (20-min walk or 5-min taxi from Rota gate; bus replaces it in bad weather). Nearest train station: Puerto (Cádiz-Madrid line). Airports: Jerez (XRY) 24 miles; Sevilla (SVQ) 80 miles.
